Cebu Resort Trip: Shangri La Mactan Resort and Spa

SHANGRI – LUNCH
A mouthful of food and ambiance

We love food and we were mad hungry! So a better place to satisfy this craving was to head to Tides at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa. A perfect lunch deserves an ideal spot.

LOCATION

Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, a five-star resort/hotel owned and managed by the Shangri-La Group, was situated at Punta Engaño Road, the historic resort city of Lapu-Lapu, Mactan Island. Getting here was less difficult since it was just along Punta Engaño road. Travel time from the Mactan Cebu International Airport approximately 10-15minutes (traffic varies). From the airport, taxi cabs were available with Php30.00 flag-down rate. Yellow airport taxis could also be found at the arrival area with Php60.00 flag-down rate. If you have already made prior arrangements with the resort, their shuttle service could take you straight there hassle-free. For more information, log on to www.shangri-la.com/cebu/mactaresort.

THE RESORT

By the time we arrived at the resort our stomach started to rumble. We just can’t wait to take in a mouthful of sumptuous variety of international eats.

Food plus crowd equals FEAST. There were a lot of choices presented from Japanese, Chinese, Western, to Filipino dishes. All were appetizing but of course, this was our own taste palette talking. We love the food as well as the ambiance. The buffet rate was a bit expensive though around Php2000 per person. Oh well, we were talking about Tides. And just like in any other famed resort/hotel offering buffet dining experience, it was expected to have a rate akin to the resort’s standards.

After that extensive meal it was time for our eyes to wander. In full view outside, the resort has an airy feel to it - A modern yet cozy aura.

The place was vibrant. The open sky and those tall and lean coconut trees helped create the feel-good mood of the resort.

The sun was so out and the weather was strikingly hot. And so a dip into the water pool would definitely freshen up any warm soul.

Or head to the beach area for a sun-kissed skin drama.

Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa also offers water activities suited for those guests who prefer to have a little adventure. The beach area didn’t have that long stretch of white sand. However, the area was fairly large enough to accommodate beach lover guests.

Our overall lunch escapade gracefully ended around four in the afternoon. And we felt hungry again. Hah! It was so tempting to jump into the water but then again we weren’t there for a day tour. Well, most likely, you can call it a day tour less the swimming part.

Still it was a fun lunch day at Shangri-La. A day well spent as they say.
‘Till next time.
Ciao!

Ugh! My stomach growls again.
