Our own paradise
Secret
haven
We
wanted to go somewhere
To someplace
Where
we could find serenity…
A
place not too far
Secluded from the
noises of modernization…
And
a place does exist.
Tucked
away from the busy streets of Lapu-Lapu
City , Cordova Reef
Village Resort was a perfect getaway to restore human senses. It was a haven
for those couples, friends, or families who wanted to achieve solitude in the
middle of the hustle and bustle of city life.
Cordova
Reef Village Resort was located at Sitio Bantayan Poblacion, Cordova, Mactan Island ,
overlooking the Hilutungan Channel. This was owned by a Filipino company under
Benthel Resort Hotel Corp. We got here by a private car using Waze App and our journey was pretty
smooth. We just followed the directions being provided.
If you were coming from theMactan Cebu International
Airport , you can hail a
taxi cab (white taxi, with Php30.00 flag-down rate) or the airport taxi (yellow,
with Php60.00 flag-down rate) and it can take you straight to your destination
about 15-20 minutes estimate. Check
their website at www.cordovareef.com
for details.
LOCATION
If you were coming from the
THE
RESORT
This
was our first time to stay at this resort. We came to know about it while we
were searching through Google. The reviews shown on the net were really impressive
so we immediately made a booking.
And
when we experienced it ourselves, it didn’t disappoint.
The
resort was serene. Their receiving area felt relaxed and it was spacious. The
staffs greeted us and we were attended to properly. Minimal fixtures
were visible in this area, intended for smooth flow of guest’s check-in/out. At
the onset the feeling of peacefulness can already be felt. There were only few
guests thus making the reviews that we’ve read beforehand to be quite true.
The
staff amiably accompanied us to our abode which was by the poolside. The resort was fairly large. The cabins have a unique shape and style.
At first we thought the room was kind of small but on the inside it revealed a very different mood. We actually didn’t expect it to be too big for both of us. We had a queen sized bed, with television and refrigerator, a large sliding window/door (dual purpose), and a very big bathroom, with a tub. It was crazy perfect for us!
We can’t wait to sleeeeeep! The bed was soft, the environment was noise proof (very quiet, really), everything was just right.
We
arrived at Cordova Reef Village Resort late in the afternoon. So before we hit
the dinner tables and while we still have a little sun shining on us, we
explored around the resort and saw its beauty revealed slowly as the night crawls.
At
night we can still feel the resort’s peaceful vibe. We weren’t even familiar
with the music played on the background. We call it music for the soul. We had
our dinner at La Mar Restaurant, Cordova Reef Village Resort’s in-house
restaurant. We weren’t really hungry so we opted for something lighter.
Their food was sumptuous. The price was alright. The service was fairly fast. Normally for other resorts the day would start at night, but not in here. We felt lazy-relaxed. There was nothing much to do. After we had our fill we hit the pool for a good night swim.
Morning
comes and breakfast was served. We had an American breakfast, a great way to
start the day. Guests from the resort started to flock the restaurant and for a
resort that was just located at Mactan
Island , we were surprised
to notice that we were the only Filipino couple checked-in on that day.
Cordova Reef Village Resort has only one huge swimming pool. The depth was up to 5 feet, perfect for us coz we don’t know how to swim. The view of the swimming pool was very nice and we took every single great shot of it.
The
resort also has a beach area. It wasn’t that impressive but the view was still
nice, good for photo ops.
Our
weekend was a blast. We felt recharged. Our mind, body, and soul were
coordinated and our senses balanced.
A
day away from a demanding world undeniably made a difference!
‘Till
next time.
Ciao!
